About The Position

This team member is responsible for all cash, chip, and check transactions for guests, and handles all monetary transactions including bank deposits, casino drops, and pay-outs for the bank during an assigned shift. This team member is also responsible for accurate record keeping and bank reconciliation of a large bank. This team member is responsible for the efficient collection and count of all currency, and ensures proper accountability. This team member is responsible for the maintenance of all Cage and Count Department equipment and provides supervision and oversight for daily Cage and Count operations during an assigned shift. THIS POSITION IS CLASSIFIED AS A REDDING RANCHERIA TRIBAL KEY EMPLOYEE

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older. Redding Rancheria tribal members must be 18 years of age or older
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in cash handling, auditing, or finance is required
  • A strong understanding of the principles leadership and supervision is required
  • Strong mathematical skills are required
  • A strong combination of written and verbal communication skills to write, read and comprehend written correspondence is required
  • The ability to effectively communicate, both in written and verbal forms, with guests and all team members of the Resort & Casino is required
  • The ability to perform job functions in an atmosphere where priorities and deadlines may change frequently is required
  • Strong computer skills, with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and online accounting systems, are required
  • A High School diploma, or the equivalent thereof, is required

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of NIGC regulations and compliance experience with Chapter X is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Processes cash, check, credit card, debit card, slot ticket, chip, and comp transactions for guests and team members in a timely manner while following departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all cash handling conforms to departmental policies and applicable regulations.
  • Responsible for processing cage transfers involving chips, tickets, checks, credit cards, cash and all accompanying reports in a timely manner; while following all applicable policies, procedures and internal controls.
  • Ensures the security and confidentiality of private guest information.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of all items in the vault during assigned shift and is responsible for creating and issuing banks. Prepares a summary of all receipts and disbursements made during assigned shift, prepares vault reconciliation and settlement report at the end of assigned shift.
  • Acts as a liaison to Finance by recording, preparing and forwarding Slot tickets and paper work such as Cage, checkout sheets, cash turn in reports, W2G’s, etc.
  • Processes jackpots for all departments.
  • Responsible for the security of controlled items such as keys and gaming checks, as well as maintaining and safekeeping the checkbook.
  • Responds to calls on mechanical difficulties within 15 minutes of the initial call.
  • Responsible for monthly kiosk drop and to fill in on slot drops when needed.
  • Follows all policies and procedures as they relate to the technical operations set forth by the Resort & Casino.
  • Perform daily audit as a team.
  • Completes all preparatory work within established timeframes.
  • Directs and supervises the work of department team members during an assigned shift and provides oversight for department operations during an assigned shift.
  • Responsible for addressing guest complaints and disputes, and resolving problems.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Resort & Casino’s policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with Cage, Security, Finance, and Slots team members to ensure that all drop policy and procedures are followed when dropping revenue from slot machines on the casino floor.
  • Investigates and locates variances for department team members and notifies all applicable departments of irregular balances in accordance with departmental and Resort & Casino policies.
  • Writes and disburses prize checks while also verifying all associated documents.
  • Ensures that the vault dollar amount is regulated on a daily basis, as well as monitoring key controls for the Cage and Count Department.
  • Ensures the efficient count of all revenue and ensures proper accountability of these items.
  • Must have the ability to work the hours required to complete all drops, this includes occasionally working over ten hours.
  • Must have an understanding of mathematics, either explicitly or implicitly, to perform basic computations, apply mathematical processes or utilize tools, analyze problems, identify or specify patterns, and draw conclusions.
  • Performs all duties in a manner that continually supports the vision, mission, values, and principles of the Resort & Casino.
  • Performs all duties in a manner that adheres to the guest service standards established by the Resort & Casino’s guest service program
  • Other duties as assigned by the Cage and Count Manager.
