About The Position

The Farmington Public School District is seeking a Cafeteria Monitor for West District Elementary School, serving students in grades K–4. This is a part-time, school-year position scheduled for 3.0 hours per day, from 10:45 AM to 1:45 PM.

The monitor performs activities that help maintain order in large student gatherings. Duties include maintaining school discipline codes, keeping attendance records for assigned class periods, controlling outside access, and preparing student passes as needed. The position reports to the School Principal or an Assigned Staff Member.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate with students while maintaining order among large student groups.
• References indicating possession of the skills required for the position.
• Ability to control order with a group of students.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to make sound judgments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain student order in assigned areas.
• Prepare reports as required.
• Communicate with students.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Maintain school discipline codes.
• Keep attendance records for assigned class periods.
• Control access from outside.
• Prepare student passes as required.
