About The Position

This position is responsible for monitoring and assisting students during breakfast and lunch periods in the cafeteria. The role involves ensuring a safe and orderly environment for students while they eat, and maintaining cleanliness of the cafeteria space.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Desire to put forth best effort in all assigned duties.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the public.

Responsibilities

Seats students in the cafeteria.
Monitors student behavior by circulating and interacting with students during meals.
Encourages students to wait in line in an orderly fashion.
Encourages students to focus on eating and not talking.
Encourages students to pick up their trash.
Encourages students to leave the cafeteria in an orderly fashion.
Monitors students as they use the trashcans.
Cleans the tables, chairs, and floors where students have eaten.
Sweeps the cafeteria floor thoroughly at the completion of lunch.
Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
