About The Position

Responsible for all aspects of customer service in the cafeteria, cashier island, dish room, deli, dining room and vending restocking. This includes obtaining, inventorying, displaying and replenishing hot and cold foods as needed. The role also involves operating the cash terminal, printing reports, reconciling the audit to the cash drawer total, and depositing cash. Additionally, the attendant is responsible for recording temperatures of food and equipment, assisting with catering functions, maintaining inventory, completing cleaning schedules, documenting unusual situations or incidents, and delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all areas of the cafeteria to include, dish room, serving and dining areas as well as cashiering.
  • Obtains, inventories, displays and replenishes hot and cold foods as needed.
  • Notifies security to retrieve and secure daily banks, and replenish coins or currency for cafeteria operation as necessary.
  • Operates cash terminal.
  • Prints appropriate reports and reconciles the audit to the cash drawer total.
  • Deposits the cash in the Security depository with an escort.
  • Records temperatures of hot and cold foods, refrigerators and freezers.
  • Assists with the collection and maintenance of other records as needed by the State and local Health Department, Joint Commission accreditation and OSHA, set Department standards or as otherwise by law.
  • Assists with catering functions including assembly, display and clean-up.
  • Responsible for cafeteria inventory restocking, and signage.
  • Completes assigned daily cleaning schedule within department including, but not limited to individual work area, equipment, pans, and small wares in accordance with Serve Safe, State and local Health Department and set department standards.
  • Documents abnormal or unusual situations.
  • Documents and gathers information for any accident/injury or other incident which may occur in the cafeteria or immediate areas.
  • Documents Code Red information to be given to Manager/Supervisor.
  • Responsible for delivering excellent customer service by utilizing the appropriate scripts developed for Food and Nutrition Services.
  • Responsible for all aspects of stocking and cleaning the cafeteria dining room, patio area, including tables, chairs, floor, cabinets, trash receptacles and microwaves.

  • Pay Range: $17.50 - $21.50
