Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Talent for attention to detail.
  • Great communication skills with a strong customer service ethic.
  • Can comfortably communicate in English.
  • Proficient knife skills and use of the following equipment: Griddle/open burner unit, Deep fryer, Microwave, Soft serve frozen dessert machine, Coffee maker and dispenser, Iced tea brewer, soda and milk dispenser.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining food storage and handling procedures.
  • Maintain food quality and nutritional standards.
  • Perform technical culinary food production, portion control, and service standards with the goal of following the production schedule and daily menus.
  • Transporting food to and from main kitchen to cafeteria.
  • Storing food in designated areas.
  • Performing basic food preparation including washing, peeling and cutting.
  • Cooking food in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served.
  • Cooking or assembling food to order where applicable.
  • Portioning, dishing and serving plates along cafeteria line.
  • Cleaning work areas including, equipment and utensils, segregating garbage.
  • Setting-up and breaking down shift cafeteria line.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness, clearing and bussing of dining areas to include tables and chairs.
  • Promote positive atmosphere of staff appreciation and morale.
