About The Position
Join Buckeye Union School District (El Dorado Hills): Cafeteria Assistant position available – part-time (4.5 hours per day) at Valley View Charter Montessori School in El Dorado Hills. Work hours are 8:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. during the school year - August to June. Hourly starting rate: $19.73 Buckeye Union School District is committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students. We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cafeteria Assistant to join our Food Services team. This role is crucial in ensuring our students receive healthy meals in a clean and welcoming cafeteria setting. The Cafeteria Assistant will perform a variety of tasks related to the preparation, serving, and clean-up of school meals. This includes ensuring food safety standards are met, maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria, and providing courteous service to students and staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent service
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of daily meals, including breakfast and lunch
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the cafeteria and kitchen areas
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are followed
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, dishwashers, and food warmers
- Monitor and restock food and supply inventory as needed
- Support the cashier during meal times, including handling money and maintaining accurate records
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and other team member
