About The Position

This is a part-time, 4-hour position, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm each school day (181-day position). On a 2-hour delay, the shift starts 30 minutes later (10:30 am). The role involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in work areas, preparing serving areas, performing meal service duties, operating and cleaning the dish room, assisting with inventory management, and adhering to food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean and sanitized work areas, including serving lines, food preparation surfaces, and equipment, before, during, and after meal service.
  • Prepare the dish room and serving areas by stocking trays, plates, utensils, napkins, pre-portioned fruit, condiments, toppings, and other food and service items prior to meal service.
  • Perform assigned meal service duties, including operating the cash register or serving food during lunch periods.
  • Prepare, stock, and replenish condiments, toppings, utensils, trays, and other service items before and throughout meal service according to the daily menu.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain the dish room and dish machine by washing, rinsing, sanitizing, and organizing dishes, trays, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout the day and at the end of each shift.
  • Monitor and record dish machine temperatures in accordance with HACCP procedures and established food safety guidelines.
  • Perform weekly deliming (Lime-Away treatment) of the dish machine as scheduled or directed by the Food Service Director.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned kitchen and food service areas by emptying trash, and sweeping and mopping floors daily.
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels, recording items requiring replenishment using the designated inventory system, and receiving, organizing, and properly storing food and supply deliveries.
  • Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations, including local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director.
