About The Position

The Cafe Supervisor is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of front-of-house dining services, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction. This includes supervising cafe and catering staff, maintaining food service quality, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The role involves coordinating catering services for corporate events, meetings, and special functions, as well as providing exceptional service to employees and guests in the dining areas.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and motivate front-of-house staff (baristas, cashiers, servers) to ensure efficient dining operations and excellent customer service.
  • Oversee the setup, cleanliness, and maintenance of dining areas, food stations, and seating arrangements in accordance with company standards.
  • Train staff on the menu, dietary options, food allergies, cultural and religious dietary needs, and customer service protocols to ensure knowledgeable and courteous service.
  • Coordinate and manage catering services for corporate meetings and special events, overseeing logistics such as food delivery, setup, and cleanup.
  • Ensure catering staff are trained in food presentation, service etiquette, and food safety standards, while maintaining high morale and teamwork.
  • Assist in the hiring, training, and performance management of front-of-house and catering employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review operational goals, discuss challenges, and implement improvements, ensuring adequate staffing during peak hours and events.
  • Address guest concerns and complaints promptly, escalating unresolved issues to the General Manager as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations, including sanitation, food safety, and HACCP guidelines, while overseeing cleaning and maintenance of front-of-house areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels for dining and catering supplies, coordinating with the General Manager to place orders and manage stock to avoid operational disruptions.
  • Support operational planning for large-scale corporate events, collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth execution.
  • Ensure all catering orders meet client specifications and are delivered and presented within the agreed timeframe.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
