About The Position

Angela's coffee shop is looking for Cafe Shift Leads to join our team! You’ll prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and other beverages while creating a welcoming experience for every customer. This position is classified part-time, non-exempt with no benefits. This role will not exceed 29 hours a week. The Jewish Community Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).

Food Handler Certification or willingness to be trained for completion of certification.
Availability for scheduled weekday and/or weekend shifts.
Professional in appearance, manner and tone.
A team player who possesses the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

Previous barista and restaurant experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Prepare espresso drinks, brewed coffee, iced coffee, tea, and other beverages.
Follow recipes and portion standards to maintain consistent quality.
Welcome customers, take orders, answer menu questions, and process payments.
Keep the coffee bar, service counter, and customer areas clean and organized at all times.
Restock cups, lids, syrups, milk, coffee, and other supplies.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.
Complete opening and closing tasks.
Monitor inventory and communicate restocking needs to the manager or shift lead.
Receive and organize deliveries and supplies as needed.
Assist with light food preparation, pastry displays, and other café items.
Work collaboratively with Food Services team members.
Support other café and Food Services tasks as needed.
