About The Position

At Mothership Coffee Roasters, we’re looking for a Shift Lead who is both kind and works hard — someone who thrives on speed, leads with confidence, and motivates others to deliver results. This role is a launchpad to becoming an Assistant Café Manager — ideal for someone who’s ready to prove themselves, lead with vision, and grow into full management responsibility. As a Shift Lead, you’re the driving force that ensures each day runs with precision, positivity, and purpose. You’ll oversee operations, inspire your team, and make sure every shift runs efficiently — from the first espresso pull to the final closeout.

Requirements

Proven reliability and initiative
Strong communication skills
Ability to stay calm and productive in fast-paced environments.
Desire to lead, learn, and grow within a high-performing culture.
Prior café or hospitality experience preferred (barista experience a plus).
Available early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays (minimum 20 hours/week).

Responsibilities

Lead daily shift operations with confidence and composure.
Drive team accountability through clear expectations and follow-through.
Partner with your Café Manager to identify opportunities for improvement in workflow, efficiency, and service.
Support training, communication, and consistency across the team.
Maintain operational excellence: cleanliness, inventory accuracy, waste management, and equipment care.
Troubleshoot real-time challenges with decisiveness and professionalism.
