About The Position

We are seeking a Café/Pantry Attendant to join our team at Great Performances. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in creating a clean, organized, and fully stocked café and pantry while delivering outstanding customer service. You’ll help ensure a warm, welcoming atmosphere and support the seamless flow of daily food and beverage operations. We provide food services in an array of celebrated New York City cultural institutions including Jazz at Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Wave Hill, and The Apollo Theater. Requirements

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in a cafe, pantry, hospitality, or hospitality setting preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of inventory and stocking procedures.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to provide valid documentation that you are legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, stock, and maintain café and pantry areas with food, beverages, and supplies.
  • Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and light food items as needed.
  • Ensure all pantry items are fresh, properly labeled, and replenished throughout the day.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the café, pantry, and dining areas.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management.
  • Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
  • Provide friendly, professional service to guests and employees.
  • Support event or meeting setups with pantry items when required.
  • Operate basic equipment such as coffee machines, microwaves, and dishwashers.
  • Performs additional duties as required based on the needs of the operation.
