About The Position

The Cafe Lead is responsible for ensuring an excellent cafe guest experience and maintaining operational standards. This role involves assisting guests, describing menu items, taking orders, processing payments, and preparing beverages. The Cafe Lead also plays a role in maintaining a clean and safe work environment, managing inventory, and upholding visual standards. Additionally, this position involves assisting the Store Manager with staffing needs, including recruitment and training of Baristas, and ensuring adherence to company policies and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Servsafe Certification
  • Must be 18+ yrs old
  • 1+ years of previous experience as a supervisor in a retail or food service

Responsibilities

  • Assist guests based on their Pace & Focus and make recommendations to meet their needs.
  • Describe menu items and suggest products to customers.
  • Service customers, take orders, receive and process customer payments.
  • Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, and specialty beverages.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge of cafe offerings and Shinola product knowledge and understanding of Pace & Focus - Welcoming, Adjusting, and Connecting.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment for employees and guests.
  • Perform regular cleaning and maintenance of cafe equipment in adherence to factory standards.
  • Clean and sanitize seating areas after each guest.
  • Order, receive, and distribute stock of supplies.
  • Communicate with Baristas to ensure business and guest needs are met.
  • Maintain visual standards.
  • Keep the store clean, presentable, and stocked.
  • Pass health inspections.
  • Reduce COGS by maintaining necessary levels of supplies and resources.
  • Communicate staffing needs to Store Manager and partner in the recruitment of Baristas.
  • Train on all Barista job requirements.
  • Regularly and consistently abide by Time & Attendance policies and all included policies and procedures.
  • Regularly and consistently abide by the Standards of Conduct and Ethics, and all included policies and procedures.
