About The Position

Silo Ridge Field Club is seeking a full time, year-round Café Counter Server/Barista to join the Silo Bakery Department. The Silo Bakery Counter Server/Barista will be the first face of our community's retail Bakery. You will provide an inviting experience for our guests and members, making custom beverages and suggesting delicious baked goods and specialty pastries for retail sale. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members, guests and fellow employees.

Requirements

Proven experience in customer service
Familiarity with point of sales systems and cash handling
Knowledge of food allergies and dietary restrictions for unique guest needs
Ability to follow recipes and instructions
Knowledge of safe food handling (ServSafe)
Effective communications with team members and guests
High school diploma required
Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities

Welcome all guests warmly and provide hospitality with grace and style
Crafting a full line of warm and cold custom beverages daily: coffees/teas/smoothies
Taking counter orders, making recommendations and establishing relationships with returning guests
Have full knowledge of our product line, regular items and specialties. Educate our customers about ingredients and preparations.
Take full attention to detail when taking and fulfilling orders
Careful packaging of to-go orders with finesse
Managing point of sale and cash purchases
Maintain café space: the bakery needs to be clean and orderly at all times: in production and in guest facing areas.
Restock counter areas as required
