About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Café Coordinator Support Associate with experience supporting individuals with an intellectual disability, as well as prior coffee shop or food service experience. This unique role provides one-to-one in-person support for our Cafe Coordinator with an intellectual disability at our in-house Coffee Bar, supporting both workplace success and professional growth for the Cafe Coordinator. The ideal candidate will combine patience and empathy to help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive work environment.

Requirements

• Experience working and/or supporting adults with intellectual disabilities
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support others
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Must be reliable and punctual

• Prior coffee shop or food service experience

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly consistent 1:1 supervision to an employee with an intellectual disability in their role as a Cafe Coordinator.
• Assist with on-the-job coaching, skill reinforcement, and confidence building
• Help with support Cafe Coordinator with daily coffee bar tasks as needed, including drink preparation, customer service, and restocking supplies
• Promote independence by encouraging problem solving and celebrating achievements
• Ensure workplace expectations, safety, and routine are supported in a respectful and person-centered way
• Collaborate with the Cafe Coordinator’s team to ensure consistent and effective support
• Communicate regularly with supervisor(s) about progress, needs, and successes
• Observe and document daily the progress, challenges, and any necessary accommodations

Benefits

• The hourly rate for this position is $22.00-$25.00 per hour. Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity.
