About The Position

The Cafe Attendant is responsible for waiting on and serving the public, preparing recipes using cafe guidelines, and carrying out other duties in support of the Cafe department and the library.

Requirements

• Skilled in using everyday technology such as computers, smartphones, tablets, and Microsoft 365 for work tasks
• Skilled in written and verbal communication
• Able to follow health and safety requirements
• Able to pay attention to detail
• Able to project a friendly, competent image to the public
• Able to use cafe equipment
• At least 16 years old
• Completion of at least two years of high school or demonstrated equivalent

Responsibilities

• Wait on and serving the public, which includes preparing and serving food and beverages for customers’ orders, operating the cash register, providing backup to other cafe employees, and cleaning cafe equipment and surfaces.
• Prepare recipes using cafe guidelines, which includes baking using cafe guidelines, using specialized cafe equipment, and maintaining a clean and hygienic work area in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Carry out other duties in support of the Cafe department and the library, which includes participating in staff meetings, staff development programs, in-service days, library committees, and professional development activities; and performing other duties as assigned.
