About The Position

The CAE Body Structure Engineer will gather information from various sources, build and run analytical models, and interpret results for customers. This role involves attending development team meetings, interacting with compartment integration teams, and leading the development of new engineering analysis capabilities. The engineer will participate with Product Development teams on new/major/minor designs, providing analysis to assess performance. Responsibilities include creating and executing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) plans, leading CAE suppliers and internal resources, and performing structural analysis on complete Trimmed Vehicle Structures (BIW, Chassis Structure, Interior Structure, Fixed Glass, Bumpers, Modules, and Closures). The role also involves coordinating resources for virtual assessment of designs, comparing results to performance requirements, recommending viable design solutions for mass and cost efficiency, and planning/implementing test and/or development programs to enhance CAE capability. Additionally, the engineer will use CAE to explain physical testing results, engineer solutions with validation and release engineers, and stay updated on new technology, competitive products, and CAE tools/trends. This position operates under a Hybrid Work Policy (3 days In-Office, 2 Days Remote) and requires the ability to report to a local office.
