About The Position

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Office of Design & Policy Support is seeking to hire a CADD Support Consultant. This role will assist in the support and implementation of CADD software and workspaces within the Department. The consultant will also aid Department personnel in the development, testing, and implementation of CADD software, primarily focusing on Bentley OpenRoads Designer and Bentley OpenBridge Modeler. There will also be a need to support legacy workspaces for Bentley InRoads and Microstation SS2, CAiCE, and Bentley MicroStation.

Requirements

• 2-4 years documenting/revising existing and new business processes to meet new/revised CADD software requirements.
• 2-4 years combined experience with the duties described.
• 2-4 years’ experience supporting the development, testing, and implementation of CADD software.
• 2-4 years’ experience working with CADD software (i.e.; Bentley OpenRoads Designer and Bentley OpenBridge Bentley InRoads and Microstation SS2, CAiCE, and Bentley MicroStation).
• Some knowledge of Visual Basic is preferred.
• Python is strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Public sector and/or Transportation experience is strongly preferred.
• Transportation engineering background is a huge plus.
• Experience developing/conducting CADD software/workspace user training sessions is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day user support, including troubleshooting user issues submitted via ServiceNow ticketing system, software installation for users, and assisting with external user workspace installation.
• Assist in maintaining the Department’s Engineering Software standards and documentation, determining the best way to use Bentley software and GDOT workspaces to achieve design or plan preparation goals, and documenting best practices (how-to’s or workflows).
• Develop and conduct CADD software/workspace user training sessions.
• Investigate new and emerging CADD technology and make recommendations to Department personnel and management for implementation.
• Document/revise existing and new business processes to meet new/revised CADD software requirements.
• Develop CADD software best practices.
