About The Position

Halff is seeking a CAD Designer to join their Water & Wastewater team in the Tavares, FL office. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple projects, collaborate effectively with engineers and project managers, and produce high-quality design documents. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with specific experience in Water/Wastewater project design.

Requirements

• Drafting Certificate or Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field is required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CADD Technician/Designer
• Excellent proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently as a self-motivator and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field is preferred
• Solid understanding of Water and Wastewater infrastructure design industry standards, principles, and practices.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to water and wastewater infrastructure
• Experience with GIS software and applications

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the planning and design of Water and Wastewater improvement projects
• Developing or overseeing the development of detailed drawings and plans using CADD software AutoCAD and Civil3D
• Working as part of a design team under the direct supervision of a PE
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior CADD Technicians
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards, promoting innovative solutions to meet project challenges
• Assisting in the preparation of technical reports, cost estimates, and project schedules
• Participating in meetings and site visits to better understand project requirements and ensure designs are accurately implemented in the field
• Collaborating with engineers and other team members to ensure designs are accurate and feasible
