The CAD Technician will be responsible for working with AutoCAD and construction drawing preparation. This role involves receiving red lines from team members and project managers, making necessary adjustments, and preparing multiple versions of designs for review by engineers. The technician will identify opportunities to improve quality and services, manage time and workload effectively between projects and teams, and understand spatial relationships to resolve potential interference issues. Communication of issues and foreseeable problems to project managers is crucial. The role requires utilizing all available tools and programs to manage work correctly and in a timely manner, incorporating information from surveys, project documentation, and jurisdiction codes into designs. The technician will also prepare correspondence to clients and contractors, handle multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality, and use feedback to modify existing designs. Problem-solving skills are needed to develop alternative solutions to unforeseen engineering issues, and all completed drafts must be kept in a company database. Other tasks may be assigned by the senior management team.
