About The Position

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a CAD Designer to join our growing team! Requirements

  • Associate degree in Drafting and Design, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply — no prior professional experience is required.
  • Basic to moderate knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to perform basic calculations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Ability to learn new skills and software quickly.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to meeting project deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Civil 3D, Plant 3D, or CADWorx is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers and designers with the preparation and modification of CAD drawings and construction documents.
  • Create plans, layouts, assembly drawings, detail drawings, sketches, and other design documents as directed by engineers.
  • Receive and incorporate basic redline markups and make appropriate revisions to drawings.
  • Revise existing drawings and update drawings to reflect as-built conditions.
  • Support the development of bidding and construction documents for clients.
  • Apply current industry standards and drafting practices when creating and modifying drawings.
  • Maintain accurate drawing archives, document organization, and revision histories.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations related to drafting and design work.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, designers, and other team members to meet project deadlines.
  • Learn and apply new software, drafting standards, and technical skills as you grow in the role.
  • Follow established procedures and receive guidance and mentorship from experienced team members.
