About The Position
The CAD Technician is responsible for assisting in the production of figures and design drawings. This position partners with CAD Staff to develop drawings for engineers and scientists. This is an entry level technician position that supports a variety of projects.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and/or diagrammatic instructions.
- Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional-level verbal and written communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Technical or Associate’s degree preferred.
- Experience producing civil and/or environmental engineering drawings and figures preferred.
- Microstation/Inroads experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Under direct supervision of CAD staff, assists with: redlines, Civil 3D tasks such as the creation of points, surfaces, alignments, and sections/profiles, processing basic CAD and engineering data sets to be used in drawings, creating basic figures, providing basic support for engineering design drawings, internal CAD standard initiatives such as detail library development, creating symbology, organizing layers in templates, etc.
- Collaborates with CAD staff to meet deadlines, adhere to budgets, and ensures deliverables are reviewed for QA/QC.
- Adheres to internal and industry CAD drawing production standards.
