About The Position

As an CAD Technician, you will play a crucial role in the estimation of bids by creating accurate and detailed construction drawings and models. Requirements

  • Knowledge of project specifications, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Skill in identifying and resolving design conflicts or discrepancies.
  • Experience in maintaining an organized database of drawings and related documents.
  • Familiarity with drawing control processes, including tracking revisions and version control.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance on drawing-related inquiries.
  • Willingness to stay updated on the latest CAD software advancements and techniques.
  • Willingness to participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project-related discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to create precise and detailed construction drawings, plans, and models.
  • Develop 2D and 3D drawings that accurately reflect project requirements, specifications, and design intent.
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales and Estimating team to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and material lists based on the construction drawings.
  • Review and revise drawings based on internal and external feedback and markups.
  • Ensure that all drawings are up-to-date with the latest changes and revisions.
  • Coordinate with the Estimator to incorporate changes into the cost estimation process.
  • Work with other internal teams to obtain necessary information for drawing creation and revision.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to resolve questions and design-related issues.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather relevant design information and integrate it into the drawings.
  • Conduct thorough checks and reviews of construction drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and resolve any design conflicts or discrepancies.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date database of construction drawings, plans, and related documents.
  • Assist in managing the drawing control process, including tracking revisions and maintaining version control.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Sales and Estimating department on drawing-related inquiries and challenges.
  • Stay updated on the latest CAD software advancements and techniques to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
