CAD Technician, Stormwater

About The Position

This role is for a CAD Technician on the Stormwater team at Contech Engineered Solutions. The technician will prepare production drawings, develop accurate Bills of Material (BoMs), and coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule. The design and drafting services will support engineering, manufacturing, and sales staff in creating water quality and quantity solutions. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with technical data, engineering drawings, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Associate degree in drafting, engineering, or AutoCAD, or a combination of post-secondary education and experience.
Ability to accurately read and interpret site plans, with knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the civil engineering field.
Strong technical skills in AutoCAD.
Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Excellent math skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to frequent changes, delays, and unexpected events.
Ability to read and interpret documents, technical manuals, site plans, and engineering concepts.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Civil engineering, architectural, or construction experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Inventor preferred.

Responsibilities

Utilize custom programs to create detailed drawings and bills of material for use in the manufacture and installation of our products.
Review design information, site plans, and manuals to determine critical dimensions of design.
Use applications such as JD Edwards (JDE), AutoCAD, Inventor, and Excel to develop and manage engineering documentation and meet project deadlines.
Confer with design staff to determine design requirements, modifications, and issues.
Interface between commercial operations, fabrication plant managers, customer service representatives, and stormwater engineers when necessary.
Perform calculations to generate the design information necessary for creating fabrication drawings.
Efficiently produce accurate drawings for review and approval by the design staff.
Develop and maintain standard and custom details for all product families.
Verify BOMs and production documentation prior to release to manufacturing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
Create, revise, and maintain BOMs and supporting documentation as project requirements or engineering changes occur.
Support continuous improvement of BOM processes, documentation standards, and workflow efficiencies.
