About The Position

Saronic Technologies is seeking a CAD Librarian to support its rapidly scaling engineering, manufacturing, and software teams. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate, complete, and current component libraries for both electrical and mechanical engineering departments. The CAD Librarian will interpret component data sheets, enter part data, attributes, and metadata into Saronic's ECAD and MCAD environments, ensuring precision and ownership in a process-driven role.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience in drafting, electrical design, or engineering support.
  • 2+ years of experience as a drafter, designer, or in a CAD support role.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one CAD tool — electrical or mechanical.
  • Ability to read and interpret component data sheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by U.S. law (U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, or certain protected classes of asylees and refugees).

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates who demonstrate genuine ownership of their work.
  • Candidates who show curiosity about the tools and components they are working with.
  • Candidates willing to fully commit to the librarian function rather than treating it as a steppingstone.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret component data sheets submitted by engineers.
  • Accurately enter part data, attributes, and metadata into Saronic ECAD and MCAD environments.
  • Ensure all relevant attributes for electrical components (ratings, voltage ranges, connector types, backshells, terminals, crimping info, footprints) are correctly entered.
  • Ensure all relevant attributes for mechanical components (dimensions, material properties, thread specifications, tolerancing) are correctly entered.
  • Receive component requests from engineers.
  • Locate and interpret associated data sheets.
  • Field follow-up questions from engineers regarding unclear or inconsistent data sheet information.
  • Flag discrepancies for resolution.
  • Work closely with the ECAD Administrator and MCAD Administrator.
  • Maintain consistent, auditable records of all library additions and modifications.

Benefits

  • Growth path into a draftsman position (electrical or mechanical).
