About The Position

We are seeking a CAD Engineer to join our team. This role involves creating detailed CAD drawings for custom-fabricated assemblies and manufactured items, ensuring alignment with design requirements through communication with customers. The ideal candidate will leverage their knowledge of fabrication methods to develop practical, custom solutions and manage all related documentation. This position also offers the opportunity to identify and implement process improvements within the CAD department.

Requirements

• Proficient knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software required.
• Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Etc.) for document and data management.
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline.
• 0 – 5 years of experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Structured problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Ability to follow and improve standardized processes.
• Effective written and technical communication.
• Accountability for quality and documentation integrity.

Nice To Haves

• AutoCAD and blueprint reading experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience in production, plastics, manufacturing or fabrication a plus.
• Prior work or internship experience working with plastics and/or in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Some level of experience in production or fabrication a plus.

Responsibilities

• Specify and create CAD drawings for custom-fabricated assemblies and manufactured items based on various information sources.
• Communicate and validate design requirements with internal and external customers to ensure alignment with design intent.
• Develop and apply knowledge of fabrication methods and capabilities to provide buildable, custom solutions.
• Manage drawing packages and documents related to customer orders and internal process documentation.
• Select and specify system components or product modifications to ensure conformance with design and performance specifications.
• Identify and implement process improvements to advance the accuracy and efficiency of CAD department and/or its team members operations.
• Perform other tasks as required to support team and project objectives.
