About The Position

The CAD Engineer will be responsible for specifying and creating CAD drawings for custom-fabricated assemblies and manufactured items, drawing upon various information sources. This role involves communicating and validating design requirements with both internal and external customers to ensure alignment with design intent. The engineer will also develop and apply knowledge of fabrication methods and capabilities to deliver buildable, custom solutions, and manage drawing packages and related documentation for customer orders and internal processes. Key tasks include selecting and specifying system components or product modifications to meet design and performance specifications, and identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of the CAD department and its team members' operations. The position also requires performing other tasks as needed to support team and project objectives.

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Etc.) for document and data management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering discipline.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Structured problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to follow and improve standardized processes.
  • Effective written and technical communication.
  • Accountability for quality and documentation integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • AutoCAD and blueprint reading experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in production, plastics, manufacturing or fabrication a plus.
  • Prior work or internship experience working with plastics and/or in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Some level of experience in production or fabrication a plus.
