CAD Drafter III – Ground Support Equipment

Blue Origin•Space Coast, FL

About The Position

The CAD Drafter III is an established technical expert on Blue Origin’s Ground Support Development Engineering Services CAD Support team. The role provides advanced technical design support for ground systems hardware across mechanical/structural, fluid, and electrical disciplines, supporting New Glenn launch operations, engine and space hardware test stands, transportation and handling equipment, advanced manufacturing tooling, and other ground systems. The Drafter develops, maintains, and submits engineering drawings, systems designs, Model-Based Definition (MBD) datasets, and product structures for release in accordance with company, industry, and governmental standards, using PTC Creo Parametric 12 and Windchill PLM. The role owns complex design tasks and subsystems, develops technical plans, authors engineering change requests, and serves as a discipline point of contact. It also contributes to tool and process development and strategic initiatives, supports program schedule and budget planning, and helps improve productivity and design quality through AI-assisted tools, generative design, and automation. The Drafter performs and leads model and drawing reviews and may review others’ work and mentor junior drafters. Applicants must meet the stated U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, refugee, or asylum eligibility requirements. The role is subject to Blue Origin’s standard background check; additional checks or requirements may apply to certain job profiles.
