About The Position
Horsepower Automotive Group (HPAG) is a leader in the automotive aftermarket industry, seeking a CAD Designer to join their team in Chandler, Arizona. HPAG specializes in creating premium, made-in-America bumpers and accessories for off-road vehicles. The CAD Designer will be responsible for the end-to-end R&D design process, turning bold ideas into manufacturable reality. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with a team that is passionate about details and creating high-quality products for the off-road community.
Requirements
- Strong SolidWorks skills, including managing complex assemblies and creating sheet metal and tubular parts.
- 2 years of experience designing similar automotive or aerospace products.
- Experience with tooling and fixtures, and understanding how to bring a 3D model into physical reality.
- A creative mindset paired with the discipline to translate ideas into clean, manufacturable assemblies.
- Self-motivated and assertive, comfortable in a fast-paced shop where priorities shift quickly.
- A team-first attitude.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Responsibilities
- Create CAD models in SolidWorks daily, from templates, physical parts, or original designs.
- Build complex 3D sheet metal and tubular assemblies ready for manufacturing.
- Process 3D scans and create scanned mesh models of vehicle data to drive new product development.
- Partner with the prototype engineering team to move new products into automation and production.
- Take open instructions on part and assembly revisions and implement them.
