About The Position

This role involves creating accurate and detailed plan sheets for road construction projects. The CAD Designer will prepare various components of road construction plans, calculate quantities, and assemble exhibits for proposals. The position requires meeting deadlines, maintaining confidentiality, and performing other assigned duties. The role is designated as flexible and requires adherence to company policies.

Requirements

Entry level experience
Experience in Transportation Engineering preferred
Associate degree in CAD or completion of a 2-year CAD program
Proficient with a computer and AutoCAD 2004 or higher
Working knowledge of Civil 3D Design software
Possess good communication skills.
Able to interpret and complete “mark-ups/redlines” to Plan sheets
Able to work within a “team” concept
Working knowledge of the Indiana Design Manual relative to CAD standards
Working knowledge of the Indiana Design Manual relative to Plan sheet order
Working knowledge in the use of the INDOT Standard Drawings
Expertise in geometry and trigonometry
Able to work seated 9 or more hours per workday
Able to work 40 or more hours per work week as needed
Able to work outdoors traversing uneven or difficult terrain
Agree to abide by the personnel policies identified in the Company Policy
Designated as a flexible position as defined in the Company Policy.

Responsibilities

Create accurate and detailed plan sheets including but not limited to Title, Index, Typical Cross Sections, Maintenance of Traffic Details, Plan & Profiles, Details, and Cross-Section sheets
Prepare various components of road construction plans via “mark-ups/redlines.”
Prepare accurate quantities and calculations
Prepare “display” materials for Public meetings
Prepare initial Maintenance of Traffic layouts with oversight.
Prepare pavement marking design with oversight.
Assist in assembling various exhibits for Proposals and Engineer’s Reports
Meet deadlines
Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding clients and company practices
Perform other duties as assigned
