About The Position

This CAD Designer will have the opportunity to produce pattern designs using Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools. Duties include, but are not limited to: Prepare detail drawings of products from sketches using CAD equipment and associated peripheral equipment and software. Follow instructions and procedures. Perform non-complex detailing, redrawing, lettering and tracing of drawings on components, assemblies and engineering change orders. Ensure that drawings incorporate all design features and maintain the product style. Contribute design modifications to improve the product quality and function.

Requirements

  • A Vocational/Technical degree or certification in or related to CAD is required.
  • Requires at least 2 years related experience.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Knowledge of CAD software techniques and tools.
  • Knowledge of design tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Follow instructions and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Customer focused.
  • Comfortable using a computer and proficient in Microsoft Office/Autocad/3D-CAD
  • Knowledge of design tools, and principals involved in generating product documentation for use in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams with limited direction to meet customer needs.
  • Proven experience as a CAD Designer with proficiency in software like Solid Edge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of CNC turret programming, tool selection, and machine setup.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate degree or higher in engineering, design, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detail drawings of products from sketches using CAD equipment and associated peripheral equipment and software.
  • Perform non-complex detailing, redrawing, lettering and tracing of drawings on components, assemblies and engineering change orders.
  • Ensure that drawings incorporate all design features and maintain the product style.
  • Contribute design modifications to improve the product quality and function.
  • Create detailed drawings per Heatcraft standards.
  • Modify existing and design new tubing and sheet metal.
  • Follow instructions and procedures.
  • Complete engineering change requests.
  • Create/modify Bills of Material.
