About The Position

TRC is seeking a CAD/CADD Technician III to perform detailed design work, including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer. This role will provide limited direction to Designers and Technicians on assigned projects and may be required to act as a design leader on projects of minor complexity. The technician will have a thorough knowledge of practices and procedures related to technical matters in areas such as Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, and CADD. The position involves preparing complex design and construction drawings, performing design services with a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and standards, and taking a significant role in preparing cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions. The role also includes assisting in engineering calculations, coordinating equipment deliveries and design development, acquiring on-site field data, and potentially serving as a Project Coordinator on certain projects.

Requirements

  • 0 - 4 years of satisfactory experience as a Designer/Drafter.
  • Demonstrated leadership and technical capability to perform job duties and responsibilities.
  • Drafting experience, including proficiency in CADD.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and a minimum of errors.
  • Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry and Company standards covering the assigned work.
  • Take a significant role in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations.
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.
  • Acquire on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.
  • May serve as a Project Coordinator on certain projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
