Our facility in Goleta, CA is seeking a Cable & Harness Technician - Level 2 or 3 specializing in harnessing and related electrical assembly and test, with aerospace industry experience working on small, medium and/or large government and commercial programs. This position will be on 2nd Shift (Hours:12:00 pm - 9:30 pm)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience (for Level 2)
  • High school diploma or GED and at least 4 years of additional education and/or related experience (for Level 3)
  • Ability to read, write and work to instructions written in English.
  • Ability read and follow directions on engineering drawings and Schematics
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to be on feet for up to various hours each day
  • Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on demanding manufacturing schedules
  • US Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • J-STD-001 Soldering Certification (expired okay- current preferred)
  • NASA STD 8739.1 Certification (expired okay- current preferred)
  • NASA STD 8739.4 Certification (expired okay- current preferred)
  • Knowledge of ESD and Flight Hardware handing
  • Demonstrated Mechanical Ability
  • Familiarity with solar cell technology and CIC wiring
  • Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic
  • Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, interpreting, maintaining, and completing paperwork and electronic data associated with hardware assemblies to maintain data and material traceability.
  • Working with electrical harness assemblies, including interpreting schematics and building compliant electrical assemblies as well as conducting electrical tests such as continuity and insulation resistance.
  • Routing wiring harnesses on flight hardware.
  • Following procedure and direction from management as well as work from drawings or sketches, and collaborate with engineers to develop or proof new processes.
  • Working with soldering, wire stripping, contact crimping, contact insertion and removal, harness routing and strain relief.
  • Working with structural bonding and application of coatings using various epoxy and silicone adhesive products.
  • Working with a working level understanding of force, torque, and precision hand tools.
  • Working to follow and determine, optimum order of assembly for complex harnesses, mechanical structures, and devices.
