About The Position

This is a contract-to-hire position for a Cable Tech in Belton, TX, focusing on a minimum 1-year data center build-out. The role involves working both indoors and outdoors, requiring hard-working individuals. The work hours are typically Monday-Friday, with potential changes to 10-hour shifts. Candidates must be comfortable traveling to different locations, with all travel paid and per diem provided. Initial hiring will prioritize candidates within a 40-mile radius of Temple, TX, who are willing to travel to Ohio or Iowa for 3-6 weeks of training, with a $50/day per diem.

Requirements

Cat6, Punchdown, Cable installation
Tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, and gloves
Able to lift 40lbs
Valid driver's license
Must possess and be proficient with the listed tools

Responsibilities

Pull cable
Assist Tech 2
Run and handle materials
Utilize hand/ power tools
Climb ladders
Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches receptacles and other devices
Build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware)
Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required
Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels)
Pulls wire and/or oversees and directs conduit installations and wire pulling
Operates tools/equipment, normally requiring the use of two hands (examples: cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc.)
