This is a TERM position with a duration of 6 to 30 months, specifically for the Fiber Modernization Project in West Virginia. The role involves a wide range of tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of cables, including aerial, underground, and buried. Responsibilities include adding, placing, removing, rerouting, setting up, racking, splicing, transferring, repairing, rearranging, bonding, pressurizing, and testing cables. The technician will also mount, cut-in, and repair cable terminals and load cases, rearrange service drops, and perform pole work. A key aspect of the job is testing, locating, and repairing defects in both copper and fiber optic cables using specialized equipment. The position requires interpreting engineering prints and vendor specifications, and interacting with the Engineering Group. Additionally, the role involves customer interaction, promoting company services, and administrative tasks such as completing paperwork and using basic computer skills.
