About The Position

The Cable Fabricator supports production and sustainment of the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) Family of Vehicles by building, testing, and inspecting power cables, RF/coaxial cable assemblies, and wire harnesses. Assemblies are fabricated to engineering drawings and workmanship standards for integration into personnel, command, recovery, and weaponized vehicle variants. The role requires precise hand skills and attention to quality, detail, and traceability in a defense manufacturing environment. The position is performed primarily in a manufacturing or production shop and may occasionally involve work on or near vehicle platforms. The employee may sit or stand at a workbench for extended periods, perform frequent fine-motor tasks, and occasionally lift and carry 25 pounds or more. Required PPE depends on the work area and may include safety glasses and an ESD wrist strap. Overtime and shift flexibility may be required to meet production and delivery schedules. An interim Secret clearance is required before starting; an active DoD Secret clearance is preferred. Clearance requirements are established by the government contract. Akima Mission Optimization describes its work as supporting federal customers and Alaska Native shareholder communities, and states that employees have access to comprehensive benefits, competitive pay, growth opportunities, and retirement options.
