About The Position

SQA Services is seeking an Electronic Source Inspector to perform on-site inspections at supplier facilities throughout Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Diego County, and potentially Ventura County. This is a part-time contract role (typically 1–3 days per week) with the flexibility to accept inspection assignments based on your availability. You will be supporting SQA's national inspection team in the field by performing quality inspection for Cable and Harnesses. You will be a quality representative for our client on behalf of SQA to support quality improvements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cable and Harness Inspector/Assembler in electronic manufacturing or related fields with knowledge of cable and harness assembly methods
  • Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school
  • Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and identify wiring components
  • Proficient in documenting Certificates of Conformance (COC)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and software adaptation skills
  • Must be fluent in English
  • ITAR Compliance required with background checks as necessary
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of electronic contract manufacturing and LEAN manufacturing a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in quality inspection, with 2 years as a Cable and Harness Inspector
  • Familiar with IPC-A-620 standards; IPC-A-620 certification a plus
  • Degree in Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections at one or more client suppliers in the area.
  • Ensure products meet quality and specification standards
  • Verify safety wire orientation, correct turns, and pigtails as per specifications
  • Confirm shipping documentation is legible and accurate (part number, serial number, etc.)
  • Check documentation packages to industry standards and classify defects
  • Interpret manufacturing drawings and identify non-conformances
  • Periodically verify accuracy and ensure productivity to meet production schedules
  • Maintain equipment and keep the work area organized
