Under direct supervision, learns and performs the basic skills and functions related to fabrication of aircraft cabinets and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using design and engineering drawings. This role involves learning entry-level technical skills, regulatory requirements, and tooling used in aircraft cabinetmaking. The position focuses on developing technical competency and problem-solving abilities to progress to the technician level. Responsibilities include preparing and making furniture using standard safety and operating procedures, design/engineering drawings, tools, and materials like laminates and veneers. The role also requires utilizing a material tracking system for parts demand, tracking squawks, and signing off on completed work. Compliance with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, proper use of personal protective equipment, and protection of aircraft interiors are essential. Assistance in the development and implementation of related initiatives may also be required.
