About The Position

Operating out of beautiful Squamish British Columbia, between the mountains, sea, and sky, LandSea specializes in providing workforce accommodation and catering solutions for projects in remote land and marine locations throughout BC and Western Canada. We believe in and strive towards, “creating good places for people to live. Anywhere.” LandSea will be providing workforce catering and accommodation services for guests onboard the MV Isabelle, a 650-passenger “Floatel”. This is for a service contract that will end on January 30th, 2027. We have 6 openings for Cabin Steward in the Housekeeping Department. The Housekeeping department is responsible for maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and service in guest staterooms, public areas, and open decks. Requirements

  • Prior experience on a cruise ship or within the hospitality industry.
  • An understanding of public health and environment requirements relating to cabin service.
  • Ability to work long shifts in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (read, write, and speak English).
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Well-developed organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic with an ability to work independently and as a team player who supports, motivates, and encourages others.
  • Completion of High School, GED, or related area.
  • Always maintain a professional appearance.
  • Work safely and responsibly.
  • Must provide at least 2 professional work references.
  • Must provide photo identification (PDF of photo ID) to verify identity during virtual interview.
  • Must be physically fit to perform: Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
  • Must be physically fit to perform: Repeat the same movements including fast, repetitive movements of fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Must be physically fit to perform: Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be physically fit to perform: Use hands to handle objects and tools.
  • All crew members onboard the MV Isabelle must have the minimum marine safety (Seafarers) certifications required by Transport Canada for the specific job.
  • MED STCW Basic Safety Training
  • Marine Basic First Aid
  • MED STCW Survival Craft
  • Passenger Safety Management
  • Ability to clear a drug and alcohol test before hiring and potential random tests throughout employment with prior notice.
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Valid Government Issued Identification
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian, PR Status, or valid Work Permit)
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Able to work the night shift.
  • Available to work multiple rotations including 21-7, 2-2, 4-2, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining staterooms as well as public areas onboard a vessel.
  • Make beds and clean the bathroom.
  • Provide fresh linens, tidy up, vacuum, empty trash bins and replenish bath amenities as needed.
  • Responsible for delivering important printed notices, such as bulletins or policies.
  • Will be required to assist during safety drills or evacuation.
