About The Position

Willoughby Golf Club is seeking an experienced and service-focused Cabana Supervisor to join our team. This role is responsible for the supervision of service for members and guests in the Cabana. The Cabana Supervisor will also supervise Cabana staff, greet and seat guests, maintain order and cleanliness, and ensure that member satisfaction standards are consistently met. This is a full-time position with variable hours. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. They should have a strong understanding of food and beverage service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a service team while maintaining Willoughby’s high standards of service.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the principals, procedures and equipment used in the storage, care, preparation, cooking dispensing and serving of food in large quantities.
  • Ability to suggestively sell wine and cocktails.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate proper wine service.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
  • Be available for a variety of shifts that may change from time to time.
  • Be available on all days of the week and hours may vary from predawn to late night.
  • Must be literate in the use of a computer utilizing word processing and excel spreadsheets to track and analyze inventory, cost of sales and financial statements.
  • Ability to think and act clearly under stress while maintaining a professional manner.
  • Understand & adhere to budgets.
  • Must be able to multi-task and think quickly.
  • Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, coworkers, members, vendors and others.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, stressful environment with many interruptions.
  • Interacting comfortably with all members and staff in the organization.
  • Standing for up to four hours at a time.
  • Walking up and down stairs multiple times per day.
  • Picking up and moving a 30-pound unit.
  • Moving tables and chairs as needed to accommodate members.
  • Working indoors as well as out of doors.
  • Ability to work with a computer running the Windows operating system.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook.
  • Strong working knowledge of computerized POS systems, specifically, Jonas.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years’ previous experience in a private club, hotel/resort preferred.
  • Previous food & beverage experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and greets members and guests.
  • Coordinates food service between kitchen and service staff.
  • Inspects all linens, menus, china, glass and silverware daily for proper appearance.
  • Resolves member and guest service complaints, notifying management and including in Daily Log.
  • Assures that all safety, accident and emergency policies and procedures are in place and consistently followed.
  • Trains, supervises and evaluates service staff.
  • Inspects service areas to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness and safety.
  • Provides layout and design recommendations to applicable manager.
  • Suggests/coordinates decoration and setup for special themes.
  • Assures the pre-opening and closing cleaning tasks/sidework is assigned and completed as required.
  • Manages the guest reservation system and a waiting list, if necessary.
  • Assists with table clearing and resetting when necessary.
  • Suggests when additional service supplies and small equipment are needed.
  • Assists with service of food and beverages in outlets and for special functions when needed.
  • Enforces established rules, regulations and policies as established in the employee handbook and F&B Manual.
  • May serve as club's opening/closing manager or MOD.
  • Completes and distributes Daily Log for each day’s activities.
  • Assists in the club’s (Cabana’s) inventory assessments.
  • Suggestively sells daily specials to all members/guests.
  • Conducts pre-shift meetings (line-up).
  • Assures that all local and state laws applicable to beverage operations are consistently followed.
  • Coordinates any special requests including dietary needs with the Chef on duty.
  • Completes other appropriate work assignments as requested by the Assistant General Manager.
