About The Position

The Norfolk Veterans' Home is recruiting participants for a C.N.A. training class. During training, incumbents work as Staff Care Technician I. After successfully completing the course and certification process, they transition to Staff Care Technician II. The course runs January 25, 2027, through February 12, 2027, and takes place from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Certification testing follows successful completion of the course. After the course, full-time and part-time employment is available on either the 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. shift or the 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. shift, with an every-other-weekend rotation. Staff Care Technician I pay is $17.938 per hour plus a $3 differential ($20.938 per hour total); Staff Care Technician II pay is $21.625 per hour plus a $3 differential ($24.625 per hour total). The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and push or pull up to 75 pounds occasionally on a daily basis. It also requires frequent bending and twisting, and walking or standing for up to 90% of a shift. Candidates should interact positively with members and others and be flexible in meeting changing job demands.

Requirements

Staff Care Technician I: Be at least 18 years of age.
Staff Care Technician II: Be at least 18 years of age, have completed a state-approved 76-hour nurse aide training course and competency evaluation program, and be listed on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to push or pull up to 75 pounds occasionally on a daily basis.
Ability to frequently bend at the waist and neck and frequently twist at the waist.
Ability to walk or stand for up to 90% of the shift.
Ability to interact positively with members and others and be flexible to meet changing job demands.
