About The Position

This position is exclusively open to students pursuing a university degree. Internship dates: From August 31st to December 18th 2026. The role offers an opportunity to work in the Content Pipeline team, responsible for data-format generation and run-time streaming to simulator client devices, such as the Image Generator and Mission function systems. The intern will participate in the development and integration of software components that provide pilots with a simulation environment of unmatched realism. The department is responsible for display solutions, visual content and rendering, sound effects and motion generation, as well as the development of artificial intelligence for other "players" in military simulation scenarios. The software contributes to flight simulators used for pilot training worldwide.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 software basics
  • Good knowledge of object-oriented development, in C++, under Windows
  • Familiar with the Visual Studio IDE (VS 2022 or higher)
  • Familiar with networking-streaming and multi-threading concepts
  • Familiar with Github and software configuration control processes
  • Sound analytical skills
  • Knowledge of software development standards and processes, e.g., Agile
  • Fluency in spoken and written French; functional English level
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
  • Must complete, sign and return the Controlled Goods Program form within a week of its transmittal
  • Must provide a copy of their passport or birth certificate
  • Students on a work permit must provide a copy of it and a police clearance certificate from the country or countries where they have resided in the past five years

Responsibilities

  • Use C++ in a Windows environment with Visual Studio
  • Work with the Unreal Engine 5 software
  • Optimize/debug/troubleshoot and add value to existing software products
  • Work in laboratories and at your desk, to validate and integrate various technologies
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of CAE software and development processes
  • Development of tests and debugging tools
  • Learn and evolve in the highly technological world of visual systems and flight simulators
  • Work in collaboration in a team with various expertise
