About The Position

Quest Global is seeking a C++, C# Engineer to join their Linux client applications development team. This role operates within an agile methodology, involving participation in designing, implementation, and peer code reviews. The engineer will collaborate with Quest Global and customer teams in a shared development model, applying subject matter expertise to solve common business issues. The position involves designing enhancements, updates, and programming changes for end-user applications software across various platforms. Responsibilities include analyzing designs, determining coding and integration activities, executing testing plans, and debugging code. Requirements

  • Strong coding skills for application level programming in C++ and C#.
  • System-level programming involving interaction with the operating system and low-level components using system APIs.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux virtual file systems (sysfs, devfs, procfs) and daemons.
  • Proficiency in bash, cli, and general shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with essential Linux commands: grep, chmod, rm, cp, mv, less, sudo, ps, service, etc.
  • Proficiency in C++14 to C++17 and development on C++.
  • Demonstrated expertise in various ways of declaring threads and understanding of thread synchronization mechanisms.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented concepts including inheritance, has-a, and is-a relationships using classes, and association, aggregation, and composition achieved through inheritance.
  • Familiarity with design patterns and interface concepts.
  • Knowledge of Inter-Process Communication (IPC), shared memory, and socket programming.
  • Solid understanding of data structures.
  • Proficiency in using Git for version control, with hands-on experience in tools like Gerrit and GitHub, and a good understanding of git commands.
  • Proficiency in using libraries like curl, openssl, and programming using REST API.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team Player.
  • Willingness to cross-skill.

  • Worked on a VM and docker environment.
  • Profiling of code using various tools.
  • Test-driven development experience.
  • CICD understanding.
  • Exposure to cloud (AWS, Azure, Any).
  • Debugger – GDB.
  • Experience in openssl or security libraries.
