About The Position

OCL Group Inc. (OCL) is a privately-held and employee-owned Canadian company providing integrated general contracting and design-build solutions across Western Canada. Since 2009, OCL has served the industrial, heavy civil, oil and gas, and mining industries. Our Fabrication shop specializes in the design and fabrication of pressure piping, fittings, and vessels, with expertise in various alloy materials and specialized fabrication and welding processes. We combine engineering and manufacturing capabilities to deliver tailored client solutions.

Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman Welder Certification with B-Pressure endorsement
  • Must have prior by-hand B-Pressure welding experience
  • Previous experience in fabrication shop and/or field work
  • CSTS 2020 Fundamentals (including WHMIS 2015)
  • May be required to complete a pre-access drug and alcohol test for certain sites
  • Must have or be willing to obtain necessary site-specific safety tickets and orientations
  • Class 5 driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Strong knowledge of B-Pressure welding techniques (by-hand)
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality
  • Able to work independently and within a team environment
  • Flexible and adaptable to shop or field work as required
  • Motivated, safety-conscious, and eager to learn and grow
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Performs well under pressure and meets deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Perform by-hand B-Pressure welding
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Assist supervisors and co-workers with welding-related tasks as required
  • Grind, cut, drill, and prep materials for welding
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools in safe working condition
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of welds to meet industry standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow company safety procedures and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned
