About The Position

Loenbro is seeking experienced Rig Welders to plan, lay out, weld, install, test, and repair pipe and similar tubular products in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, welding codes, and industry standards. The role supports customer projects by completing welding work on time and within budget and involves preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial oil refining piping and associated structures. The position may also involve supervising and training welder helpers.

Requirements

At least 5 years of welding experience.
Complete a welding qualification.
Meet all state license requirements.
Have accurate and precise attention to detail.
Have working knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations regarding piping systems.
Be familiar with metal machining properties, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
Be proficient in commonly used welding processes, including SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW.
Hold OSHA 10 certification.

Nice To Haves

Prior welding experience in construction, mining, or a related industry, or a two-year vocational-technical degree.
Prior orbital welding experience; orbital welding training will be provided.
Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers.
High attention to detail.

Ability to travel and relocate as needed.
Ability to work as a team and solve problems.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial oil refining piping and associated structures.
Supervise and train welder helpers.
Develop an understanding of contract plans and specifications, and plan, lay out, install, and repair piping accordingly.
Examine and inspect field conditions; identify problems, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving measures, and take corrective action as needed.
Select appropriate filler metals and construction materials for assignments.
Perform other duties as needed to support business operations.
