About The Position

As the Manager of Buying for the GCA Division, you will play a key role in supporting the growth and development of one of Alo’s most strategic international regions. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and scale a growing business, partnering cross-functionally to build assortments and strategies that resonate with the GCA customer across all product categories. Reporting into a Senior Buying Manager and leadership, you will support the strategy and execution across Women’s, Unisex, Men’s, Accessories, and Footwear for GCA markets. You will help translate global brand direction into locally relevant assortments that drive growth across both retail and digital channels. This role requires a balance of analytical thinking, strong product intuition, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, evolving environment. As part of a growing division, you will have the opportunity to contribute to foundational processes, influence key business decisions, and help support the development of team members as the organization expands. Requirements

  • BA or BS preferred.
  • 5–7+ years of experience in buying, planning, or merchandising within apparel or fashion retail.
  • Experience across multiple product categories preferred; exposure to accessories and/or footwear is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Asian markets; knowledge of China and broader APAC strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills combined with a sharp product eye and trend awareness.
  • Ability to work both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Positive, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Invent AI is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support and execute the buying strategy across all categories (Women’s, Unisex, Men’s, Accessories, and Footwear) for GCA markets.
  • Build and manage bottom-up sales forecasts and unit plans across divisions to support financial targets and regional growth goals.
  • Help develop localized assortments that reflect regional consumer preferences, climate, cultural nuances, and channel dynamics.
  • Partner closely with Planning and Merchandising to manage key financial metrics including Open-to-Buy, gross margin targets, SKU productivity, and unit plans.
  • Analyze in-season and post-season business performance, identifying opportunities and risks and making recommendations to improve results.
  • Identify key styles for carryover seasonal programs and help ensure strong in-stock positions on foundational products.
  • Participate in seasonal hindsight reviews and help translate learnings into future assortment and buying strategies.
  • Represent the needs of the GCA customer and business in cross-functional meetings through data-driven insights and market knowledge.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Planning, Merchandising, Allocations, Marketing, Design, and Production teams to support successful product launches and business execution.
  • Support pricing strategies across GCA markets to ensure alignment with brand positioning and local market competitiveness.
  • Track launch calendars, delivery timelines, and operational milestones, proactively communicating risks and helping identify solutions.
  • Build a strong understanding of country-level and channel-level business needs across the GCA region.
  • Help mentor and support junior team members while contributing to a collaborative and entrepreneurial team culture.
  • Contribute to building and improving processes as the GCA division continues to scale.
