About The Position

The Roadshow Team at Sam’s Club curates a selection of innovative and member-focused merchandise, enhancing the shopping experience with unique and valuable products. The (USA) Buyer leads cross-functional teams to execute strategic purchasing plans that align with business objectives and customer needs. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating terms, and overseeing category budgets to optimize financial performance. The Buyer analyzes market trends and sales data to develop actionable merchandising strategies while ensuring product availability and quality. Collaborating with internal partners, this position drives continuous improvement, supports associate development, and upholds company standards of integrity and operational excellence to deliver results that benefit customers and the business.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and aligning workloads with strategic timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills to review financial projections, identify merchandising issues, and develop actionable solutions.
  • Expertise in supplier relationship management, including negotiation of cost, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Ability to develop and execute category and subcategory business plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Demonstrated leadership in training, mentoring, and performance management of associates.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, integrity, and compliance with company policies.
  • Proficiency in using data insights to balance short- and long-term priorities effectively.
  • Adaptability to changing business needs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field
  • 3 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area OR 5 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cross-functional buying teams by aligning workloads with timelines and strategies to ensure timely execution of business plans.
  • Review and approve purchase plans, analyze reports, and address merchandising issues to optimize product availability and demand.
  • Collaborate with planning teams to develop and manage category budgets, financial targets, and projections.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and resolve escalated replenishment issues.
  • Develop and execute merchandising strategies, modular plans, and product assortments aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead business plan execution, remove obstacles, and adjust performance to meet goals.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop associates, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
