The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of Buyer. This job is full-time permanent. Overview: Reporting to the Supervisor, the Buyer will be part of a result-oriented team whose members are encouraged to exceed expectations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teamwork, is motivated by new challenges, and brings strong communication and analytical skills to support procurement activities and supplier coordination.

Requirements

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in both official languages, French and English.
  • Solid technical skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, communicate with all levels of the organization and adapt quickly to change.
  • Solid analytical skills and the ability to quickly make sound decisions based on experience and judgment, even with incomplete information and/or under pressure.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and cooperate with others to achieve the final result.
  • College Diploma (DEC) in logistics, operations management, production management or finance.
  • 3 years of relevant experience with a large public manufacturing company.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the SAP system, an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuous supply to assigned mills by managing purchase orders, supplier deliveries, and invoice processing.
  • Monitor procurement performance, ensure compliance with purchasing procedures, and meet established deadlines and KPIs.
  • Coordinate procurement activities with mill stakeholders, resolve operational issues, and maintain effective communication across teams.
  • Promote adherence to company purchasing policies and ensure proper completion of required documentation.
  • Analyze, implement, and monitor contract compliance while supporting process automation and procurement efficiency initiatives.
  • Participate in supplier negotiations and identify sourcing opportunities in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing Managers.
