Buyer

Boom SupersonicCentennial, CO
$90,000 - $115,000

About The Position

We are hiring a Buyer to own the procurement of materials, components, and services that keep our production moving. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, drive cost savings, and make sure the right parts are available at the right time. This is not a passive order-placement role — you will actively shape how and where we buy.

Requirements

  • Prior ERP system experience required.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Purchasing or supply chain experience, ideally in aerospace or manufacturing.
  • Comfortable working in different purchasing systems and spreadsheets.
  • Strong communicator — able to clearly relay requirements and status between internal teams and suppliers.
  • Detail-oriented with the persistence to follow up until the job is done.
  • Thrives in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift daily.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and ambition, complemented by effective collaboration skills in a team setting.
  • Excels in a high-energy, independent, and challenging work environment.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

  • You treat supplier relationships as strategic assets, not just transactional contacts.
  • You move fast, make decisions with incomplete information, and course-correct without drama.
  • You'd rather own a problem end-to-end than hand it off.
  • You're comfortable in a lean, high-accountability environment where bureaucracy is not an excuse for delay.
  • You want to be part of something that actually matters — and you'll be proud to tell people where you work.

Responsibilities

  • Source (RFQs/RFPs), evaluate, and select suppliers for materials, components, and services across assigned categories.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms.
  • Perform cost analysis and comparison to ensure best value across all purchases of goods and services.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders from creation through delivery and invoice resolution.
  • Host and conduct supplier status calls for make-to-spec procurements.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and finance to understand material needs and align procurement strategy.
  • Identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities across your spend categories.
  • Manage supplier contracts and ensure compliance with agreed terms and monitor supplier performance.
  • Resolve supply disruptions, shortages, and escalations quickly.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions, purchase orders, and receipts.
  • Manage master data elements for suppliers and parts.
  • Partner with engineering to own and maintain the BOM — every part needs a plan, and you're accountable for making sure it has one.
  • Help identify and implement process improvements for purchasing efficiency.

Benefits

  • Flexible PTO policy
  • Long term incentives/equity
  • Many other progressive benefits
