About The Position

Our HiTech team, Peterborough Division, is looking for a Buyer to join our Purchasing team. This position supports the department company's financial goals, including manufacturing, productivity, material cost, and product quality. The role of our Buyer is to coordinate the ordering of raw material, and coordinate outside supplier services for the demand of the business.

Requirements

  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office; especially Word & Excel.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision and apply critical thinking to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to coordinate workflow and identify and respond to priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team or perform independently.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • MRO stockroom knowledge and ability to cover when personnel are out of the office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or closely related field.
  • Minimum of one year of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing company.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organizations’ facilities.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Enter purchase orders in systems as needed or directed.
  • Seek approvals for purchases based on dollar level and divisional protocols.
  • Send purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Seek approvals for purchases based on dollar level and divisional protocols.
  • Monitor MRP requirements so that material orders are placed in a timely manner to meet the organizational needs.
  • Develop/utilize an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders.
  • Provide reporting on material and order status as needed; perform cycle counts as needed.
  • Support departmental and organizational goals.
