Requirements

  • Minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Government contractor purchasing requirements DFAR/FAR.
  • Knowledge of ERP and/or MRP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with focus on Microsoft Excel required.
  • Working knowledge of item attributes and their effects on MRP.
  • Ability to present possible solutions when notifying management of an issue.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge/understanding of Government contractor purchasing requirements.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Experience assisting with negotiations and ability to obtain mutually beneficial collaborative win win solutions.
  • This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a “U.S. Person” as defined under ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. Person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Primary Liaison between CPI EDB and our suppliers.
  • Creates and maintains purchase orders.
  • Pulls all documentation and sends out quote requests to suppliers.
  • Evaluates supplier quotes and awards accordingly.
  • Works with Planning to disposition Excess and Obsolete material.
  • Assists Accounts Payables to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Escalates supplier related issues in a prompt manner.
  • Helps resolve issues and answer questions from other CPI EDB employees.
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned
